Patch: Art Puzzles · Effective October 29, 2026

Patch has no account, no ads and no tracking. Your puzzles, colorings and stickers stay on your device. The app sends a few anonymous counts, like “a scene was finished”, so I can see what works and make Patch better. They never identify you.

Who I am

Patch is made by Alex Szczurek, an independent developer based in Poland. I am responsible for the data described here. You can reach me at alex.a.szczurek@gmail.com or from Profile in the app.

What stays on your device

Your progress, finished scenes, colorings, stamps, stickers and settings are stored only on your iPhone or iPad. I can’t see them. If your device is backed up to iCloud or a computer, they are part of that backup, which Apple or you control. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Anonymous usage counts

Patch uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service based in Germany, to count how the app is used. The app sends these events:

Each event may include the scene and collection it is about. TelemetryDeck also adds basic technical details, such as the app version, the iOS version, the device model and the language and region settings.

To count unique installs, TelemetryDeck uses a random ID that is salted and hashed on your device before it is sent. It is not your name, email, Apple Account, advertising ID or device serial number, and it can’t be linked back to you. TelemetryDeck states that it does not store IP addresses. This data is never used to track you across other apps or websites, is never sold, and is never used for advertising.

I process these counts on the basis of my legitimate interest in keeping the app working well and understanding which scenes and collections people enjoy.

Purchases

Patch Passport is bought through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment, and I never see your name, card or Apple Account details. The app only checks with Apple which purchases belong to your Apple Account, so it can unlock them and restore them on a new device.

Photos

If you save a finished picture, Patch asks for permission to add images to your photo library. It can only add images. It never reads or uploads your photos.

Downloads

Some collections are downloaded after you install the app. These downloads come from Apple’s servers and contain only artwork. No personal data is sent with them.

When you write to me

If you email me, I receive your email address and whatever you write. I use it only to reply to you and to fix the problem you describe, and I don’t share it with anyone.

Children

Patch is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, children included. There are no ads, chats or links to social networks inside the app.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you have the right to ask what data I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use, and to complain to a data protection authority. In Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO). Because the usage counts are anonymous, I usually can’t find any data that belongs to you, but please write to me and I will help.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects what data the app collects, I’ll also mention it in the app’s update notes.
